Thoughts On Finding a Church Home

For various reasons, many of us at different times of our lives find ourselves in need of finding a new church home. Making a solid commitment to a local church is very important, not only for the sake of the church and God's Kingdom, but also for your family. Here are some suggestions on how to seek God's Will concerning a new church for you and your family.  1) MULTIPLE VISITS-in order to really understand the culture of a church, it takes several visits to various worship services, groups, or ministry events at that church to get a feel of what that church is really like.  2) PERSONAL CONNECTION - try and make an appointment to have lunch or just visit with staff members and also life group or ministry leaders pertinent to you and your family's season of life. 3) CORE VALUES AND BELIEFS - find out what the church's beliefs, doctrines, core values are through a visit with a member of the church. 4) GIFTS AND TALENTS - God has shaped each of us uniquely! Ask the Lord to reveal which church is best suited for you and your family to use your gifts and abilities to serve. 5) MINISTRIES - What does the church offer to help meet the particular needs of your family? What is being provided for people of all ages, from kids through senior adults? This is not an exhaustive list, but it can help you get started! If you are interested in becoming a member of Calvary Baptist, please call one of our ministers and make an appointment to discuss.
